Learn How Your Donations Benefit the Global Fund  Rwanda: Winning the Battle Against Malaria  Net Distribution Impact Reaches Far & Wide
Since 2002 The Global Fund has become the main source of financing for malaria programs world-wide. These funds have enabled countries to strengthen their health systems, making improvements to their infrastructure and providing training to those who deliver services. Even though Rwanda is a landlocked country, it is an island when it comes to malaria control. Bordered by some of the world's highest malaria burdened countries, this nation has rapidly scaled-up malaria interventions and achieved dramatic reductions in the deadly disease. At the end of a week-long net distribution, nearly 1 million children are able to sleep soundly. Children under 5 across the West African country of Côte d’Ivoire went to bed knowing they will wake up the next day – without a single mosquito bite thanks to the support of our partner, the UN Foundation.
